The Leatherman Micra is an excellent small multi-tool (sometimes called a mini-tool) for everyday carry (EDC). The Micra is one of my favorite small multi-tools. I carry one on my key chain, and use it all the time.

Impressions
The Micra is a scissors focused multi-tool, and Leatherman’s spring action scissors are some of the best around. Even though I always carry a folding knife, many cutting tasks are just better performed with scissors. In addition to awesome scissors, the Micra has very usable screwdrivers, tweezers and a bottle opener.
The Micra’s knife however, is a complete last resort, and I don’t think I’ve ever used it. The same goes for the nail file and nail cleaner, not very useful for me, but they are there if you need them.
Value
At the time of writing, you could buy the Leatherman Micra for around $20, and the Micra is well worth every penny. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better multi-tool for $20. I have carried mine for over a year now, and it has held up quite well, only missing a little blue paint. If it does break, well, it has a 25 year warranty, so no big deal.
Sounds cool. I carry that same LED mini light. I hope I never need it to evacuate down a stairwell…
Haha, me too! But I also carry a flashlight…I carry the Quark MiNi AA2. Great EDC light.
Hey Brandon, what kind of mini light is that? I got a Streamlight Stylus that I love but would like to get something for my key ring. Thanks!
Yours looks well used! And for a good reason – leatherman stuff just lasts!
