Theis Holsters Jake Belt

I’m usually a nylon belt kind of guy. I have several leather belts of varying quality, but nothing that I can get too excited about. That is until I got my Jake Belt from Theis Holsters.

Features

The Jake Belt is a handcrafted leather gun belt made by Tommy at Theis Holsters. The belt comes in either black or brown, and is made from two layers of top grain leather. The two layers are then glued together and stitched with heavy nylon thread, and secured with Chicago screws. The buckle is a standard but heavy duty roller style buckle that works well.

The Jake Belt is named after Tommy’s three year old grandson Jake, who helps him out in the shop. All holsters and belts are handcrafted by Tommy, and of course with Jake’s help. If that’s not awesome, I don’t know what is!

Concealed Carry

There’s no doubt that a good gun belt makes a good holster great. If you’ve been using a belt that isn’t designed to carry the weight of a holster, then you’re really missing out on a lot of comfort. Not to mention that your gear is going to sag and your belt is going to quickly wear out.

The Jake Belt is a great concealed carry belt. It’s very thick and vertically stiff, meaning it carries your holster(s) extremely well, and it also looks great doing it. It doesn’t scream “GUN!” the way some of my nylon belts do (not that my nylon belts are going anywhere haha), which is a good thing.

Quality and Value

The Jake Belt quality, like that of Tommy’s concealed carry holsters, is excellent. At the time of writing, you could buy a Jake Belt for under $70 for up to a 49″ belt (larger sizes available). That puts the cost on par with other quality leather gun belts.

Wrapping Up

If you don’t have a concealed carry belt, or you’re looking for a new one, take a look at the Jake Belt. It’s extremely well made, has a two week money back guarantee, looks great, and is very comfortable.

Hi, I just ordered my Jake Belt, I too normally use a nylon belt, it will be great to add the Jake. I have a Theis holster for a G23 and love it. Thanks for another great product review.

If you get a chance, check out The Belt Man. He makes an awesome product as well. I have owned mine for many years, wear it every day and use it for IDPA weekly. Still stiff and other than some finish wear from on-off daily, looks and works great. And, if you lose some weight, you can send it back and he will adjust it to your new figure.

I was wondering how comfortable that G19 is when carrying AIWB. I am currently debating between a G19 and M&P9c for concealed AIWB (winter carry) and would appreciate your thoughts.

The G19 is very comfortable with the right holster. Both guns are great, and if you can conceal them (winter carry you shouldn’t have any problem) you can’t go wrong with either.

Can you share what holster is pictured here? I’m interested in one with the double straps. I’m looking for a bit more stabilty.

Sure, it’s a Dale Fricke Archangel.
