Pathfinder Pocket Hunting System

Dave Canterbury is a survival expert, owner of the Pathfinder School in Ohio, and co-star of the hit Discovery Channel show Dual Survivor. Long before Dave became famous on the Discovery Channel, he was famous on YouTube. I followed Dave on YouTube for a couple years before he became a big TV star, and I learned a lot.

One of the things I learned from Dave was the usefulness of the slingshot. The slingshot is a very capable tool for taking small game. Slingshots are very small and lightweight, making them perfect for a bug out bag or EDC kit. They also virtually never run out of ammunition, as you can nearly always find smooth rocks that will work if you run out of shot.

A while back, Dave came up with the idea of modifying a slingshot so that it could fire arrows as well as shot. He called it the Sling Bow. The ability to shoot arrows is very cool, as it gives you the added capability of using the slingshot to shoot fish, and even big game in the right situation.

Well now the Pathfinder School is selling what they call the Pocket Hunting System, which is basically a ready made Sling Bow that can be purchased from the Pathfinder School. Check out the video below for more information.

Most interesting website I’ve come across in a long time, great!
I am interested in the sling shot; in particular do I need to buy a particular slingshot or can I buy the sight attachment as well as the fishing spool arrows? Looking forward to hearing from you, good stuff.

    Regards, Ron Roggenbuck

Thanks Ron! You can buy the whole system, or just the adapter and parts. Check out this link:

        Brandon,
thanks for the quick response. In reviewing your site, I was disappointed in that using a Mac, I could not pull up the images. Would like to see the Mora knives and other cool stuff on your site. hope you can help me with this. I have ordered a number of items from Moderno and the small cook stove with the “stand” and grill is just about sweet.
I am revamping my emergency gear and making up short term (2-3 days) and long term (1 month+) survival kits. Up here in Alaska with 20 pound mosquito’s and real earthquakes, relying on what is in the house is a much better plan than thinking of how “they” will take care of us.
        Thanks again, love your site.

IM not trying to be an ass****, but just a slingshot itself , for birds, rabbits, and protection can be a great tool. I made my slingbow out of the original ” Trumark Slingshot”, and Whammo, wrist Rockets in the early 70s. the only drawback is, most states wont let you hunt with it, its a survival tool, and a great backyard shooter, but YOU need to use speargun rubbers to get the higher speed and poundage. He got a great idea, but its a survival gadget.

I like it. I, myself, have been using my slingshot for a bow type device for years. I guess it pays to take these ideas and market them. I did not however create an attachment for bow fishing, I like it. My sling bow, as I call it, will have that by tonight. Anyway, I really like Dave and his ideas. I enjoy watching his youtube shows.
