Beretta Debuts the APX Striker Fired Pistol

Beretta announced today that they have debuted a new full-size striker fired pistol, a first for Beretta, at the International Defense Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi. The pistol is called the APX, and is a multi-caliber/modular system that Beretta will be submitting to the upcoming US Army Modular Handgun System:

Beretta APX

Beretta intends to submit a variant of the APX shown at IDEX to the upcoming US Army Modular Handgun System. “Of course we will continue to develop the APX to take into consideration the final specifications of the MHS as they become known,” stated Gabriele De Plano, Vice President of Beretta Defense Technologies (BDT) USA Marketing and Operations.

The APX striker fired pistol has been developed to match military and law enforcement needs but is not just for these customers, Beretta intends to market a variant for the commercial market later this year. This addition to Beretta’s pistol line will further cement the company’s position as one of the world’s leading small arms manufacturers.

Looks and sounds interesting, definitely something I will be keeping an eye on. You can read more here and here.

Looks like a cross between a Caracal and VP9.

They all start to look the same after a while.

The only thing that really catches my eye with this plastic-fantastic is that its rollmark says VT, rather than MD.

If it truly has caliber modularity, that will be a big selling point for some.

“modular system”… That serial number window looks a lot like the SIG P320’s window. Could be an actual modular fire control system? That would be interesting…

That said…. WHO RELEASES A GUN A MONTH AFTER SHOT!?

It looks like a kitchen appliance, or perhaps an electric razor
