Bullets for Boots

You’ve no doubt heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, especially if you’ve spent any amount of time on Facespace in the past two weeks. Now while that’s all fine and dandy, and financially supporting ALS research is a worthy cause, Matt DeVito from Down Range Firearms Training has a new “challenge” for you called Bullets for Boots, to support an equally worthy cause.

The #BULLETSforBOOTS challenge is to raise awareness for veteran’s suicide, and to financially support the Boot Campaign. It goes a little something like this:

  1. Pick your favorite rifle
  2. Mag dump
  3. Donate $1 for every round fired

And of course, challenge your friends to do the same. Check it out.

Putting his money where his mouth is. Much better then just dunking yourself with ice water.

Since ALS has raised over $53 million already, they don’t need me to dump ice water all over myself, I don’t have a lot of money, but I will do a mag dump (5 rounds) with my 1942 Mosin Nagant. I’ll post a video later.

As promised, a video of me shooting my Mosin Nagant in my backyard range, 50 yards to the target, 5 rounds of handloaded PPU 7.62X54R brass, Hornady Match 30 CAL .308″ 168gr. BTHP with 43.2gr. IMR4895 OAL 2.820″. A little extra shoulder padding with a hand towel folded up. 1 min 36 sec.
The target. NOTE: I was not shooting for best accuracy. I have done better. 1.8″ group @ 50 yards.
Off to the website to donate $5.

So you deleted my post with the video of my 5 round mag dump, too bad I can’t delete my donation.

Now it reappears, 3.5 hours later. Never Mind.

OK. Sorry. I tried clearing my cache, closing and reopening my browser, even rebooted the computer and it didn’t show up until I posted again. I thought maybe the site was messed up.
The first post I made showed up right away. Again, sorry for the confusion.

Should modify it to pistol or rifle. That way its a larger target audience.
