Look out Joe Biden, you’ve got competition for Idiot of the Year. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colorado) spoke at a public forum on national gun control legislation hosted by the Denver Post yesterday, and what she said proves how ridiculous and out of hand things have truly gotten in this country.
Here’s what she said, and I’ll tell you that listening to her drivel several times in order to transcribe it for you guys made my brain start to bleed, so you’re welcome.
I’m the prime House co-sponsor on the ban of the high capacity magazines…what’s the efficacy of banning these magazine clips. I will tell you, these a these this is, these are um, ammunition. They’re bullets. So, the people who have those now, they’re going to shoot them. And so if you ban, if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time, because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be anymore available.
If your reaction is “there’s no way the House co-sponsor on the ban of high capacity magazines doesn’t even know what they are,” then well, you better suffer through it and watch for yourself:
Notice the laughter from the crowd of old folks in the room when Rep. DeGette got done proving how unbelievably stupid she is. Here’s a clue Rep. DeGette: learn the difference between a magazine (what you’re trying to ban) and a clip, both of which can be reloaded with those ammunition bullet thingies. Unbelievable.
What infuriates me the most is that this goes way beyond stupid. She’s the CO-SPONSOR of the legislation to ban standard capacity magazines, and she doesn’t even know what they are! To be willfully ignorant like this is malicious, and just proves that banning standard capacity magazines has nothing to do with saving the children.
You Democrats must be so proud.

It is a very cut up film so I can’t tell from the quality of it what was really being said. I find it difficult that a representative could be that ignorant about guns being from the great state of Colorado. I have seen a lot of stupidity come to light lately and would not put it past her!

Degette’s office acknowledged she screwed up but said she was talking about actual “clips”
Degette was asked what this mag ban would do in the future, she stated that once the bullets were shot out of the magazine then the mag would be empty and thrown away since it contained no more bullets
This dunce thinks mags come preloaded and once empty they can’t be reloaded, she was corrected later but I don’t think she believed it as she was to busy giving the Sheriff weird looks like he was lying
She is nothing but a mouthpiece for higher ups
