With all the talk of banning guns, tightening regulations, and the President going it alone with Executive Order, it’s nice to hear stories like this one. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott said in a recent interview that he would go to court to block any attempts to restrict our right to keep and bear arms.
“I’ve been to the Supreme Court twice,” Abbott said in an interview with 1200 WOAI’s Joe Pags.. “I can tell you that these laws that try to restrict our gun rights violate the Second Amendment guarantee of the right to keep and bear arms. The U.S. Supreme Court has spoken on this issue twice.”

This just goes to show you that the political process has not yet failed us, and that there are still elected officials like Mr. Abbott who are willing to defend the Constitution and the people of this country.
As a reminder, the Attorney General is the chief legal and law enforcement officer in the state (or at least it is in Texas). So to have someone at that level on our side is a big deal. And you know what? In Texas, he’s not alone.
Senator Ted Cruz
Newly elected Senator Ted Cruz has also been a strong Constitutionalist and Second Amendment defender. In a recent interview on Fox News, Cruz had this to say about gun control.
My point in all of this is simply to say that the political process has not yet failed us. Contact your Representative, your Senators, your county Sheriff, etc, especially if you live in a state that is actively attempting to take away your liberty like New Jersey or Illinois.
The day may come when the political process no longer works, but today is not that day.
