Maryland Governor Signs Gun Control

Maryland became the latest state to infringe upon the Second Amendment protected rights of its citizens today when Governor Martin O’Malley signed SB 281, the so-called Firearms Safety Act of 2013, into law.

Official Bill Summary

Establishing an exception to the prohibition against carrying a deadly weapon on public school property; making it a misdemeanor to possess or use specified firearm ammunition during the commission of a crime of violence; limiting the authorization for a person to wear, carry, or transport a handgun; designating specified firearms as assault weapons; prohibiting, with exceptions, a person from transporting an assault weapon into the State or possessing, selling, offering to sell, transferring, purchasing, or receiving an assault weapon; etc.

Infringement

The law, which takes affect on October 1, limits handgun magazine capacity to 10 rounds and adds an additional 45 weapons to the banned “assault weapon” list. They even go so far as to define an “assault pistol” in the bill, as if they are competing with other fascist strongholds to see who can be the most ridiculous.

Sad day in Maryland to be sure, and even worse, it’s sounding less and less likely that Beretta USA will leave Maryland in protest. The bill is 60-something pages long, and if you live in Maryland, you should probably read it. Or better yet, move. It’s the most effective peaceful resistance we have left.

The entire Northeast is lost, the FSA outnumbers everyone and even some Northeast conservatives want gun control
Of course a Northeast conservative is a libtard in other states
Do like the Colts and flee Maryland

They don’t have PA yet! And they won’t! I won’t abide by any of these new nonsense laws in my state and i’ll simply ignore them if they pass.

It is not just a ‘they’ and ‘their’ problem. This is a cankerous, festering sore spreading through our nations soul. If we allow the states to go this path it will be easier for them to take away our constitutional rights. If you as a citizen fail to see this, immigrants with amnesty registered to vote will see it even less.

Agreed – this nation is heading for another civil war.

The interesting thing is that O’Malley as a typical democrat has been allowing a drug dealer to run the Baltimore prison as his personal fiefdom. The drug lord even got 4 guards pregnant with 5 kids. The guard force, prison superintendent and O’Malley are all on the take.

Sadly, you nailed it when you said moving out is the most effective PEACEFUL resistance we have left. I shudder to think that after my 22 years on the US Military protecting these idiots right to speak out against our freedom, the very freedom that gives them the right to speak such drivel, that our only peaceful recourse for us to keep that freedom is to run to a state with a less intrusive government.
I live in New Hampshire and I can tell you that, though we are still a bastion of liberty compared to the states that surround us, we are surrounded by nanny state liberals who don’t like the way we live in this state. Many libtards from Mass, Connecticut, Vermont, etc. get fed up with the state government they voted in and move here, only to try to vote in the same kind of government once they settle here. Our current Governor, Maggie Hassan, is as anti gun as they come and were it up to her, we’d be nothing more than Boston north.
As a state, we are still holding strong, but our liberty is under assault from all sides and I believe it’s becoming ever more apparent that with every Democrat who gets elected, our rights and liberty are eroding ever further. Speaking out at town hall meetings simply prompts sneers and derision from those who are now viewed as the elected elite, and comments in defense of the constitution and the rights we derive from that document are ridiculed in front of what seems to be an entire audience of libtards who have come to cheer for the slow but constant destruction of our country. I sincerely pray I am wrong and in no way am I promoting armed rebellion, but it feels like anymore peaceful resistance may be ineffective at best.
I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read “Our forefathers would have been shooting by now”. I hope and pray that bumper sticker was wrong, but it’s also been said that “The tree of liberty must be periodically watered by the blood of Patriots”.

There are many fine people that live in what used to be the great state of Maryland. Sadly they elect these types of fools.

Being a resident of Maryland this is indeed a sad day. We had the capital closed because we had more protestors then ever before in MD history. “Fools voted him in” well lets just say this, he didnt win half the counties in MD and won the election thanks to the fine citizens or Baltimore city and the few surrounding counties. Theres petitions going around to make the bill a referendum but no one has high hopes about that either.
