Why Do You Need a Gun At Home?

We already know why you need a gun to go shopping, but what possible reason could there be for, gasp, having a gun in your home?

Enter the Satanic, radical fundamentalist Muslim group most commonly referred to as ISIS (ISIL if you’re President Obama, Lindsey Graham or one of their cronies, and also known as IS). ISIS, because peaceful religion, is calling for radicalized “lone wolves” in the United States to go to the homes of U.S. military and “slaughter” them.

A law enforcement bulletin obtained by FoxNews.com warned that Islamic State fighters have increased calls for “lone wolves” to attack U.S. soldiers in America in recent months, citing one tweet that called for jihadists to find service members’ addresses online and then “show up and slaughter them.”

There will be “a continued call – by Western fighters in Syria and terrorist organizations – for lone offender attacks against U.S. military facilities and personnel,” warned a July law enforcement intelligence bulletin from the Central Florida Intelligence Exchange, a state-run agency that gathers, assesses and shares threat information and works with the Department of Homeland Security. “These threats will most likely increase should the U.S. or its allies attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) in Syria or Iraq.”

In one example cited in the bulletin, a British jihadist encouraged radicals still living in the West to use Facebook and LinkedIn to find and target soldiers.

“You could literally search for soldiers, find their town, photos of them, look for address in Yellowbook or something,” the tweet read. “Then show up and slaughter them.”

You can read more here and here. Obviously this is just one of the MANY reasons to be armed and to get training.

I’d like to think that ALL US service members would be armed at home, but I know better. Still, I’d love to see some of these scum get blown away trying.

I agree, we need to force them to be armed at all times, we pay for this as tax payers, and should be getting this. You don’t want to have to carry a side arm or rifle off-duty, then maybe you shouldn’t be in the military. As for the argument of “someone will get drunk and have a NG”, this is BS. When I was in Beirut we had 2500 of us that where drunk a LARGE amount of the time, and as far as I remember there never was a NG.

We had some clown try to break into our house several years ago at about 3AM, when we lived in SoCal, he ran away before I got downstairs to confront him. I was armed then and remain armed to this day. Is that reason enough? 😉

Absolutely – glad to hear nothing bad happened.

I forgot to add, there are several military installations in town and many active and retired service members in our neighborhood.

You know, I just don’t understand people who think this could never happen to them, or that ISIS could never hit the homeland in a Beslan or Mumai style attack. It’s like 9/11 never happened in their mind or something…it’s odd.

I would say normalcy bias, but it borderlines on delusional for some folks. I don’t know.

Everyone in my area is heavily armed, us hilljacks that live out in the boonies know it would take a deputy 45 minutes to get to us
Our sheriff is very pro gun and when a gun is used to take down criminals the sheriff buts a blurb in the newspaper about how good the defense ways and says we need more armed citizens in our area

Ha – negative. I’ve only lived near a big city (never in), and most of life has been country living, very rural. I’m way happier now that I live in the mountains.

Speaking of getting training, I have been wanting to but don’t know where to start. Do you know of any good trainers in the Helena area?

I live outside of Houston. We have at least 3 home invasions a day plus they are hitting Denny’s and other establishments. We have 12 gage and 9 mil. Our range has classes on how to use our weapons in different scenarios. We are ready for anything we hope.
