Oregon Moves to Limit Magazine Capacity

Add Oregon to the list of states trying to limit magazine capacity. My buddy Eric from VF Gunrunners Tactical Supply tipped me off that Oregon State Senator Ginny Burdick, D-Portland is set to introduce LC 1031, a bill that would limit magazine capacity to 10 rounds.

It appears that Burdick is supremely ignorant when it comes to firearms and their use in crimes. She had the following to say about magazine capacity, and seems to think that self-defense and hunting are one and the same.

Even hunters are restricted from using large capacity magazines: there is a five cartridge limit for large game hunting, and three for bird hunting. If we limit capacity for hunting animals, why do we not extend that principle to guns that may harm our neighbors?

A draft of the bill can be seen here.

People of Oregon take notice. Share with your friends, and contact the state Senate immediately.

I don’t know, I saw that too. Perhaps that’s when it was drafted. You’ll notice that it says “2013 Regular Session”, so it appears to be the correct link.

Yes but in Oregon there is no magazine limit for one of the most popular types of hunting in the state. VARMIT hunting. You can have as many rounds as you want in a rifle or pistol being used to hunt Coyotes, Rabbits, Sage Rats (beldings ground squirrels) etc. So her hunting citation is crap.
