PerSec Systems Discount Code

There are a lot of companies making great Kydex gear these days, which is a good thing if you’re in the market for a new holster or mag carrier. One of those companies that I recently discovered is PerSec Systems.

PerSec Systems was recommended to me in my search for a holster for my HK VP9. I’ve had a couple of PerSec holsters for a week or so now, and I’m impressed with their quality – great fit/finish, and retention (though subjective) is spot on for my tastes. Their appendix carry holster is very well thought out, and PerSec provides several belt attachment options to choose from across their holster lines.

I will have a full review coming soon, but in the meantime, the folks at PerSec were kind enough to offer a discount code for Monderno readers. Enter the code MONDERNO at checkout and you’ll get 10% off your order and free shipping.

Tell us more about the retention – I’m paranoid my gun’s gonna come out at the wrong time. Worn an IWB with thumb break for years because of it.

Remember that carrying IWB, you not only have the retention of the holster, but you also have the pressure from your body and your pants. On my IWB sample from PerSec, I can turn the holster upside down and shake it, and the gun doesn’t come out. With the addition of pants/belt and body, I think you’re going to have a hard time getting it to come out on its own.

Having said that, you can always request extra retention if you worried about it.

I’ve used kydex holsters for IWB EDC for years and never any with over-the-top retention devices. I train in dynamic scenarios exhibiting all sorts of positions and movement and I have not (yet) encountered retention failures. Mind you I own holsters of “reputable” manufacture.

I’ve been in several full-out sprinting foot pursuits of suspects in plain-clothes operations with kydex IWB holsters and no retention failure.

Your mileage may vary, but that is my $0.02.
