Rick Perry Responds to Obama’s Executive Actions

Texas Governor Rick Perry released the following statement today regarding President Obama’s Executive Actions:

The Vice President’s committee was appointed in response to the tragedy at Newtown, but very few of his recommendations have anything to do with what happened there.

Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror.

There is evil prowling in the world – it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds. As a free people, let us choose what kind of people we will be. Laws, the only redoubt of secularism, will not suffice. Let us all return to our places of worship and pray for help. Above all, let us pray for our children.

In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president.

Well said Governor Perry.

It’s nice to see Governors taking a strong stance against gun control. We’ll have to see how talk like this plays out in the real world if strict gun control were to be passed by Congress or enacted via Executive Order, but this kind of thing is good to hear.

Thanks to my buddy Eric for the heads up.

Yes it was very well spoken. Words spoken with no action are still just words. We as Americans need to let those in our local, state, and federal appointed positions know that WE will not stand for this kind of action. The thing that has yet to be corrected by the Media and Obama is that there was no AR 15 that was used at Sandy Hill Elementary.

he state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.”

    – Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf

“This is our first task as a society…keeping our children safe.” – Barack Obama

    Enough said.

Yes, there are several similarities between the two. Childhood, personalities, mental stability. Except, Adolf did serve in the military.

It’s the right of all free Americans to stand up and say enough is enough . I want my free country back information and knowledge of your rights are so important. I for one will shoot to kill anyone who tries to take my guns away & any of my rights that i have under the Constitution . It’s my constitutional right as a free American to have and keep guns this was put in the Constitution for a reason the government has forgot that. To protect ourselves from any threats foreign and domestic . If you come to take my rights away from me I’d see you as a threat to my way of life and i will defend it to the end at whatever the cost it its what we all have to do stand together and see we will not be a victim of this president who will do whatever he can to take the rights of you and me away . god bless america

Troy no one is coming to take your guns. Please stop spreading fear. Fight your legislators, after we are a republic. We vote for those to represent us, per our forefathers great insight. I’m not debating anything on gun control. You have a right to your own opinion. That’s the American way. Just please be aware that words are powerful and very influential. Use your influence for your legislators. After reading your comment I’m more afraid of you than any criminal.

And this is why I would’ve voted for Rick as President.
