Glock 43 Rumor Mill

The internet is awash with rumors regarding Glock’s new pistol, allegedly named the Glock 43. Most speculation is that the Glock 43 will be the long-awaited single-stack 9mm to compete with the very popular Smith & Wesson Shield.

This is allegedly a leaked photo of the G43:

At first glance the magazine looks too small, like someone photoshopped a Glock 42. Lending legitimacy to the image is the rumored size of the Glock 43 – only a few millimeters taller/wider than the Glock 42. If true, I think you can expect standard capacity to be the same as a G42 at 6+1, which will likely make it smaller than a S&W Shield.

At any rate, we will all know soon enough, as Glock is set to announce the new pistol one week from today on March 20, live from the Glock US Headquarters.

Update 3/18/2015: Another allegedly leaked photo from a gun mag.

I’ll be curious to see if it is comparable to the shield. I used to carry a G26 but found it too bulky and switched to an LC9. A single stack 9mm might just drag me back to Glock.

Try the LC9s. It is amazingly better than the LC9.

I for one have tried one at my local shop, and it is vastly superior to the LC9, but alas I am “stuck” with my old model, which no one is going to buy since the release of the updated version. I will wait to see if the G43 is in fact going to be what it is rumored to be.

It will probably be significantly lighter than the shield, too. The shield’s a relatively big gun at 19oz gun that only holds 7 in the mag. Not cool.

Doesn’t that photo look a little amateur to be official? The gun even looks used/handled.

That’s a G42 with he 2 photoshopped to a 3. I hope glock isn’t stupid enough to make a 6 shot 9. If that’s the case they will loose even more biz to the shield.

It has already been proven a hoax.

No thanks…i like ammunition. I’ll stick with my XD9 mod.2. With one spare mag, I’ve got 30 rounds.

Yes, the 43 would be concealable, but I’m a fan of sheer firepower – long live double-stacks!

lc9s has the same trigger as the ruger sr9c. The best trigger of any of the striker fired pistols.

XD 9all the way for full size 33 total rounds with 2 mags and one to start in the chamber. I do have the Glock 42 also and for a small conceal carry or a backup it is a great little shooter.

my xds 45 is just fine for me to carry

I support anything golck. I was concerned with the release of a .380 but after trying it you quickly grow found of it. Carry is not always about how small, but waht caliber. I personally carry a gen 4 mdl 29 in 10mm. Would be nice to see a 29 s to match the 30s……just a thought.

Glocks suck ass. 1911’s all day erry day

Dude how do you compare a glock to a 1911 that is like comparing apples to oranges you just don’t do that

Best rumor I’ve heard so far was that it’s a full size 9mm single stack, like a thin 17.

I really hope it’s none of these and they announce a .22lr target pistol on Friday just to mess with us.

Oh, and the slides are precut for RMRs. With interchangeable backstraps. And trigger pads. And a frame safety.
