Gun control bills up in NJ Senate committee Monday

New Jersey politicians are at it again. On Monday, the New Jersey Senate Law & Public Safety Committee will vote on two gun control bills, A2006 and A2777.

The first bill, A2006, would further limit magazine capacity, reducing the permitted size from 15 rounds to 10 rounds, with tubular magazine .22 rifles like the Marlin 60 being exempt. The second bill, A2777, defines “reasonable” deviations in the course of transporting firearms within the state.

A2006 Synopsis

Reduces maximum capacity of ammunition magazines to 10 rounds; exempts firearms with .22 caliber tubular magazines from 10 round limitation.

A2777 Synopsis

Defines reasonable deviations in the course of transporting firearms.

The Senate bill is S 993. This one has been delayed for 2 weeks. I think it’s because the Assembly bill was so outrageous, the Senate sent them back to the drawing board to come up with one that could reconcile. That’s why the exemption for the tube-fed .22″s. The fix is in and this crap will pass. I only hope that thev Gov. will veto it like he did the last batch as being illogical and unnecessary.
