New Court Decision Likely Ends CA Restrictions on Concealed Carry Permits

Some good news out of California – a court decision announced today likely ends the state’s restrictions on concealed carry permits.

Law-abiding Californians may not need to justify their need to carry concealed weapons, after the same three-judge panel that struck down restrictions on the permits earlier this year ruled Wednesday that it is too late for new opponents to join the fight against the ruling.

The decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals would bar other law enforcement officials, including state Attorney General Kamala Harris, from appealing its ruling in a case originally brought by an independent journalist who sued the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department over its policy of requiring a specific reason for being allowed to carry a concealed weapon in public.

LOL…I was thinking the same thing. Sad thing is, most of the gun owning minority I’ve met from CA are idiotic statists (but they like guns), let alone the anti-gun majority. CA is a lost cause IMO.

If the people willing to jump through the hoops to get a concealed carry want to have beliefs other than mine, I’ll embrace them. So few Non-believers (I believe in Jesus Christ, USA, and the right to life, liberty…) are inclinded to be unmitagated killers and use a concealed carry as a vehicle to carry out their beliefs, that the tradeoffs are worth it. There will be many more casual, law-abiding citizens that carry, many fewer places will be “soft-targets”. Gosh, I’m a liberal Democrat, and I don’t shiver to know those republicans are carrying… some don’t even believe in God, but they keep their nose clean, and we get along just fine. Us liberals may not be your in-bed friends that money means everything, but we both believe a person has a right to defend themselves and not be threatened by criminals. Good enough for me.
My Naval flight time, a father that was a POW and Distinguished Flying Cross Recipient, retired USAF Major, we still tended to believe in liberal stuff… like a fair minimum wage (hey, adjusted for inflation, it isn’t where it was in the 1960’s, presently!) We don’t believe in corporate welfare, like taxpayers paying for Pro Sports areanas, and tax-exempt status for Cabela’s “museums” within their stores. So, does that make us that served, and, oh-my-gosh, are protestants, some sort of enemy? Sometimes I don’t carry my Boberg, but a foreign-made Sig… does that put me on your list?
Oh, how I wish for the days that we had compromise instead of division.

I believe in freedom, so neither the Democrats nor the Republicans work for me. Neither party believes in personal liberty.
