New from Snake Hound Machine: SHM Ray

Snake Hound Machine introduced a new light bearing inside the waistband (IWB) holster today called the SHM Ray. This one looks pretty interesting, as it’s specifically designed around the very awesome INFORCE APL.

SHM Ray

As you can see it’s a single G-Code clip design that is mounted near the center of the holster. I’m guessing this placement will provide better balance to the holster. You can also tell that the holster will be adjustable for ride depth and retention, and has a pretty minimalist cut. Right now Snake Hound is supporting Glock pistols only, with Smith & Wesson M&P pistols coming soon.

Overall, it looks great. You can see more photos and purchase one at Snake Hound Machine.

Announcing the new SHM Ray holster from Snake Hound Machine

Snake Hound is known for its toys, but not for doing holsters. Traditionally SHM has teamed up with other Kydex manufacturers to offer custom products to SHM specifications, this is the first IWB holster designed by SHM that they liked enough to bring to market. The SHM Ray is a light bearing inside-the-waistband holster made to be slim and compact and take advantage of a single G-Code clip. The holster is a semi-production product and manufacturing has already started, lead times are expected to be approximately two weeks from time of order. The Ray comes in one color, an ultra dark “wolf gray” with black fittings, has a full sweat guard, and only comes fitted for an Inforce APL light. Price is $75.00 shipped, Glock models are available now with M&P models expected to launch in about two weeks.

Very nice. Looks like this type of holster is going to become more popular, as I’ve seen Bravo did one of these types and RDR Holsters has done one of these as well that I saw on their instagram. Interested in how they will compare to the X-Fer.

Is the X-Fer out for the APL yet?

No I don’t think its available yet, but as far as I know Armordillo Concealment has made them, they just aren’t ready to release them.

I didn’t really mean light brand specific, I just mean’t this type of design for a IWB light bearing holster.
