The universal background check legislation, also know as House Bill 1229, passed the House and Senate today, meaning that the bill now moves to Governor Hickenlooper’s desk for signing.

The Colorado Senate voted today on HB 1224, where it passed by a vote of 18-17. There were two Democratic Senators, Cheri Jahn of Wheat Ridge and Lois Tochtrop of Thornton, who did the right thing and voted against the bill.
