Senate Filibuster Fails

Today the Senate voted 68-31 to start debate on gun control legislation that includes expanded background checks and new penalties for gun trafficking. Sixteen Republicans joined with 50 Democrats and two independents to let the bill proceed, while 29 Republicans and two Democrats (Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., and Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska) voted to block it. (more…)

Connecticut’s Gun Control Package

The next state to enact ridiculous reactionary gun control could very well be Connecticut, and it’s a doozy.
