5.11 Tactical Taclite Pro Pants

I’ve been wearing 5.11 Tactical Taclite Pro pants for a while now and I’m a big fan. When I bought them, I thought they would be good pants for range use, drills, hunting and hiking, but really I find myself wearing them all the time.

5.11 Taclite Pro Features

Here are some of the features I find most interesting. For a full listing of features, check out 5.11 Tactical’s website.

Materials and Design

The pants are made of a 65% polyester and 35% cotton ripstop blend fabric. For those that don’t know, ripstop fabrics are woven in such a way that makes them resistant to tearing and ripping. So little holes don’t become big holes.

I think 65/35 is a good mix for an outdoor/hard use pant. The fabric isn’t as comfortable as a higher percentage cotton pant, but the polyester adds durability and allows the pants to dry more quickly.

The pants are treated with HT Teflon for a wear-resistant finish that repels water and prevents staining. They also have a gusseted crotch, which allows for a more full range of movement.

Pockets

Being cargo pants, you probably expect a lot of pockets, and the Taclite Pro pants deliver. On the front and sides, there are two cargo pockets, a magazine/cell phone pocket, a dedicated and reinforced knife pocket in addition to the standard side pants pockets.

The side pockets have a partially reinforced lip, which provides extra durability and wear resistance. If you typically carry a clipped knife or flashlight in these pockets, then you understand why this reinforcement is a cool feature.

The large back pockets are a slash design that allow easy access. They have a hook and loop closure, and have the same partially reinforced lip as the side pockets.

Quality and Value

As is the case with all 5.11 Tactical products that I’ve ever owned, quality of the Taclite Pro pants is top notch. All materials used are great quality, including the YKK zippers, Prym snaps and Horn buttons.

At the time of writing, you could find 5.11 Taclite Pro Pants for around $45. In my opinion, they are well worth that price, even if you plan to only wear them for outdoor use.

Wrapping Up

5.11 Taclite Pro pants are some of my favorite pants. They are comfortable, functional, have held up well and are reasonably priced. If you’re looking for a pair of outdoor use pants, or want an alternative to jeans, check out 5.11 Taclite Pro pants. I think you’ll like them.
