Smith & Wesson Shield 5K Rounds

Matt from Down Range Firearm Training recently purchased a second M&P Shield. In the video below, he talks about some of the changes he made to the pistol, including some work done by Lou at Business End Customs. What I found particularly interesting is that Matt now has 5,000 flawless rounds through his first M&P Shield. That’s pretty impressive!

I have about 1,500 rounds through my Shield, and still just the one failure. Now that we are heading into cooler temperatures (finally), I will carry the Shield less, therefore it will see fewer rounds at range sessions.

On a side note, I want to trade jobs with Matt…

Told you not to sweat the one failure. 😉

Yes you did…I put a couple hundred rounds through it after it came back from S&W to make sure, then started carrying it again. I still haven’t decided on whether or not I want to get a pocket carry backup gun.

What’s your winter carry? The 19 or the FS M&P?
