Beretta ARX100

For the past several SHOT Shows (at least) we’ve been hearing about the Beretta ARX100, Beretta’s multi-caliber semiautomatic rifle to compete with the FH SCAR and Bushmaster ACR. It sounds like the wait might be finally over.

Beretta brought the ARX100 to media day, and we waited in line to shoot it for about 20 minutes before finally giving up. There was a group of gentlemen in front of us from overseas and that were extremely enthusiastic about the rifle, and kept passing it back and forth amongst themselves, taking selfies, and making “pew pew pew” noises pretending to fire the rifle. 20 minutes was seriously all I could handle.

All in all, the Beretta booth was one of the least organized booths I visited at range day, but Dan did manage to snap this photo.

Media day issues aside, a full-ambi, multi-caliber rifle with an MSRP under $2000 that is 100% made in the USA is definitely intriguing, and I can’t wait to give one a try. Even better is that according to Beretta, the ARX100 will be available within 90 days. Check out this video from Beretta that goes through some of the feature highlights.

They said the same thing at the NRA Convention in Houston in May 2013. I’ll believe it when they are on dealer shelves.

I’m excited to hear how the rifle performs…sorry to hear about range day, I’m so sick of the foreign airsofters at SHOT I could puke.

It looks rather bulky. While I like the idea of swapping barrels to change calibers, I’m not seeing it with this rifle.

I can do full custom built AR, with a separate upper, for less then the base cost of this thing.
