At SHOT, I had the opportunity to attend a reception for the NRA Life of Duty, and during the event I saw a preview for a new series called “Defending Our America.” Based on the preview, I’m really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
NRA Life of Duty’s newest program dissects three words: “Defending Our America.” We want to share what this phrase means — not to politicians or talking heads on the news — but to the people with their boots on the ground. No scripts; no prompts; no retakes; just eight men offering their raw opinions based on their shared service to America. Coming April 2014.

Brandon, I think it’s off to a rousing start. But I didn’t hear anything myself and my fellow veterans and current brothers-in-arms haven’t been saying for at least 5 years – probably more.
But it DOES need to be said more openly, shouted to the rooftops in fact, until the people of this nation start caring more about the future of their nation than they do who won last week’s American Idol. And they need to know that – like it or not – because of our own, and our gov’t’s irresponsibility, there’s a storm on the horizon. And when it strikes it’ll be us – ALL OF US – who need to man up and make a stand to keep a determined enemy from bringing this nation to it’s knees.
The time to prepare for that storm is NOW – because we’ll be fighting not just an embedded foreign enemy, but our own citizens all too willing to take advantage of the chaos for their short-term gain. And all because they can’t see past tomorrow – or because some of them have ties to the guns, drugs, and slave trade operated from elsewhere but maintained here because this is where the money and the market is. And we all know our gov’t is too PC to call it like it is and take decisive action. That will be up to US.
