This probably won’t surprise many of you, but once again the facts prove that when legal gun ownership goes up, crime goes down.
While some states are tightening restrictions on the Second Amendment, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Second Amendment is alive and well. In fact, gun ownership is up, and wouldn’t you know, crime is down.
Firearms sales rose 16 percent to a record 490,119 guns purchased from licensed gun dealers in 2012, according to sales estimates obtained by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
During the same period, major crimes committed with firearms dropped 5 percent to 4,378.
The Crazy Liberal Lunatic Brady Campaign can’t be happy to hear this…
If you’re familiar with John Lott’s work on the topic, you know that this isn’t quite the “unique trend” that Fox News says it is. The fact is that criminals don’t often walk into gun shops and submit themselves to background checks in order to purchase a firearm, and the supposed “gun show loophole” is a liberal scare-tactic. When good people are allowed to exercise their God-given right to self-defense, crime goes down. It’s just common sense.

Also, calling the Brady pukes “Crazy Liberal Lunatics” doesn’t even begin to cover it…those people are disgusting human beings who want to turn us all into slaves. There’s only one fix for people like that.
