Ruger just announced a new pistol, the LC9s, a striker-fired version of the subcompact LC9.
My buddy Ebbs from Haus of Guns got an early sample of the LC9s, and overall, he liked the improvements:
The brand new redo on the original LC9, the LC9S now has a striker fired mechanism with a “safe action†(generic term) style trigger to match. Not only does the trigger feel better, but its pull is roughly 30% shorter and 20% lighter. With an improved trigger obviously comes better accuracy and ease of shooting both at a slow and faster cadences with more accurate follow-up shots to boot.
Thanks to the striker fired system, the trigger boasts its own safety as an additional safeguard, and piece of mind if the carrier chooses to do so with the manual safety disengaged.

Looks good, the only thing I hate is the safety magazine
The trigger reset still sucks.
It’s nowhere near as bad as the hammer fired models, but it still leaves a lot to be desired.
I own a LC9. It’s a decent gun. But It’s not my first choice of a carry firearm.
