Be Careful Hunters, You’re Next

Many hunters (not all) that I’ve met are not the strongest Second Amendment supporters. You may know the type I speak of. Oh sure, they support your right to own firearms that are “suitable for hunting or home defense”, but a lot of hunters I talk to fall into the “why do you need…” crowd. Because no one needs an AR-15 for hunting, right? No one needs a 30 round magazine for hunting, right?

Well wrong, actually.

First of all, the Second Amendment has nothing, nothing, to do with hunting. If you think that it does, please educate yourself. The topic has been covered extensively here and elsewhere on the internet, please do your own research and figure it out for yourself.

Second, I use my AR-15 all the time to hunt hogs, but even though I think semiautomatic rifles are great for hunting, I’m not going to try and convince you of that. What I would instead like to do is offer a word of caution to you hunters who are ok with these so-called “common sense” restrictions being pushed by Democrats.

Speaking with hunters, an attitude that I frequently see is that the current gun control push doesn’t affect them. What about the next gun control push? A guy I recently spoke with told me this exact thing, that it didn’t affect him. Knowing that he is an avid hunter, I asked him what his favorite hunting rifle was. He responded that it was his old 30.06, to which I asked him, how long do you think it will be before they classify your hunting rifle as a sniper rifle?

If you don’t follow, stick with me. Look at the rhetoric that we see from the gun grabbers – it’s all about “need” and “common sense”. How hard would it be to say “snipers use these calibers for their power and their long range capabilities. Why does anyone need those capabilities for hunting? Why does anyone need those capabilities for self-defense? You don’t need a [insert caliber here] to kill a deer!”

After all, the .308 is one of the most common sniper calibers used today, and is also very popular in the world of hunting. Many popular hunting calibers are even more powerful. How long before politicians make the case that the “armor piercing .308 round” has no business in the homes, fields and forests of America?

Remember Uncle Joe’s advice? Buy a shotgun.

Mark my words hunters – the slippery slope is real. If they are successful in taking away semiautomatic rifles like the AR-15, your hunting rifles will be next.

The time to get on board with the fight is now.

The same topic I’ve been sharing. This is just the beginning. Inch by inch, mile by mile, they will take whatever pieces of freedom we will give up. Then one day we will realize that they aren’t asking anymore, they will have the capabilities to just take the remainder of our freedom.

No hunter worth thier salt has to shoot a deer at sniper range. Stalk them until they can be taken like they were in the old days with stone tools and wooden clubs. That’s sarcasm by the way…

    Thomas Jefferson –

“A government big enough to give you everything you want is one strong to take away everything you have”

“Those who would give up a little liberty for a little security, deserve neither liberty nor security”

I can easily see it now, some Democrat will say something ridiculous like the .226 is a Military round and anything bigger is too, so why do you “need” a round that “big”?
