Meet the Liberator

Remember when I said that one of the many reasons that gun control would never work is that technology would advance to the point where it would be impossible? Well the Patriots at Texas-based non-profit group Defense Distributed have taken another step towards making that a reality.

The Liberator

The Liberator is a single shot handgun that is almost entirely 3D-printed. All sixteen pieces of the Liberator prototype are printed in ABS plastic with a Dimension SST printer from 3D printing company Stratasys, with the exception of a single nail that’s used as a firing pin. The gun is designed to fire standard handgun rounds, using interchangeable barrels for different calibers of ammunition.

Even better, this gun can be printed at home by anyone with the freely available CAD files and a 3D printer. Check out the promotional video showing a test fire below. You can learn more about the Liberator from Forbes here.

It would’ve been super cool if had they followed the exterior design of the original Liberator from WWII. Either way, the name makes a statement.

Well, the days of CCW permits are numbered. When 3D printers come down in price, EVERYONE will carry. All that needs to happen; BIO-DEGRADABLE materials! Then, we’ll hear about “Banning Printers” or “Black Market Printing” , I can’t wait! The Liberals will scream about criminals using these weapons, doing crime & throwing them in water to loose the evidence.
