Yesterday on Michigan Radio, which is part of the NPR network, political commentator Jack Lessenberry commented the Cinco de Mayo parade shooting in Detroit. In typical liberal fashion, Lessenberry departed the land of common sense, and descended into the realm of absurdity:
We automatically assume we can’t do anything, that the Second Amendment fanatics and the gun lobby will stymie any gun control efforts, no matter how reasonable…when it comes to gun violence, we are like medieval peasants were about the plague. We accept there is nothing we can do about it except pray.
Mr. Lessenberry is comparing gun violence to the bubonic plague, which killed an estimated 75-200 million people in the mid-14th century alone. This is a typical liberal tactic and thought pattern – arguments based on ignorance that prey on emotion.
In response to Mr. Lessenberry’s comments, Michigan resident and MDFI instructor Trek said the following, shared here with his permission:
I generally like NPR as it is the closest thing we have to the BBC as far as ‘News.’
Just pulled into the bunker after a rainy sight-in session to hear Jack Lessenberry attribute gun rights to the bubonic plague. (that needs to be purged from society) all because a criminal shot a person in Detroit at the Cinco De Mayo parade.
What part of freedom escapes these asshats?
Nothing in the history of the world backs up the, “If we ban them, everything becomes hunky-dory!” brainwashed, emotionally driven, ignorant stance on guns.
Maybe Jack should look out the window and see the citizenry of Detroit stacking bodies of bad guys while bastions of [fools] like Chicago (See: Gun Free Cities) are still the gun-crime capitols of these once-free United States of America.
If you want to be a drooling crotchmuffin who would trade freedom for peace, there are a metric buttload of ‘countries’ around the globe that will welcome you as long as you be a good little drone.
Just a quick note before you don your beret and aviator sunglasses to jaunt off to a happy little banana republic dictatorship somewhere: There are mass-graves all over this unhappy earth filled with the bodies of those who waited for help.
Dig your own graves if you wish.
Don’t demand we stand in it with you.
Well said Trek.
