Night Reapers Systems has a new light coming Q2 2014 called the Estrela, which means star in Portuguese. The Estrela is a variable output light that goes from very low to very high, and has some pretty nice features for the price tag.

Key Features

  1. Three Channels of Operation: Momentary Strobe, Constant ON/Dimming, & Momentary
  2. Utilizes the newest Cree XM-L2 LED Emitter for exceptional light output
  3. High efficiency driver circuit provides maximum 1000lm output translating to 300 meters of useful light.
  4. Accepts (2) Lithium-Ion CR123A’s or (1) Rechargable 18650 Battery
  5. Aircraft-grade Aluminum Body, Scratch Resistant Type III Hard Anodizing with removable Stainless Steel Bezel.
  6. Aluminum Rotary Dial for Rapid, Seamless Mode Changes
  7. Large surface of heat sink on its head, allowing for efficient heat dissipation.
  8. High efficiency smooth reflector
  9. Ultra-clear lens with anti-reflective coating.
  10. Optional filters: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow.

So the Estrela goes from .04 lumens all the way up to 1,000 lumens, runs on either rechargeable 18650 batteries or CR123A batteries, has three modes of operation, Cree XM-L2 U2 LED, etc, all for $129. I’m looking forward to the release!

    I’m pretty “set” in my ways when it comes to flash lights – I really like Surefire, however, I will be buying one of these when it does come out – It looks like they have taken all the best parts from other lights and incorporated them into this thing.

    Looks pretty badass, but I too am a SF fan, so I’ll wait to see some reviews before I jump on this one.

    I too will be trying this one out. Iif it pushes 1000 lumen and manages the heat, its well worth the price. Poriod.
